Hitachi is going to introduce their two new clever hardware at Computex this week. The first hardware is Hitachi’s innovative, slimmest and fastest hard disk drive which has designed for next-gen ultra-thin netbooks. This World’s first 320GB HDD has 7,200 RPM with 7-mm thickness. Its a 2.5-inch Serial ATA 3Gbps and called the Travelstar Z7K320. It has 1,334Mbps max transfer rate of 16MB cache and need 1.8 watts power for read/write operations and 0.8 watts on lower-power while on idle condition it works at 23dB and 24dB when on seeking mode.
Another Hitachi’s hardware is a collaboration product with LG. They call this hardware as the HyDrive. A new SSD - storage system that combined with slot-loading Blu-ray combo drive but has a slim design. Hitachi-LG HyDrive SSD offers in two capacity (32GB and 64GB) and has 175MB per second of read speed with 60MB per second of maximum writing speed. HyDrive is capable to perform 30-60% faster than other hard drive when they are rotating for booting up and loading apps. HyDrive combo blu-ray and SSD has been attached on SATA II.
Both Hitachi Travelstar Z7K320 ultra slim HDD and HyDrive combo hardware will available in August as Hitachi’s Family PC series. You will see those two new hardware for Ultra-thin netbook and could be on next-gen all-in-one PC along with AMD’s new 8-series system chipsets. But there still no strong evidence about this news.
